Calendar of Events 2026 Launching Ceremony & Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Celebration

Langkawi is set to close the year with a grand celebration as the Pelancaran Kalendar Acara 2026 (Launching of the Calendar of Events 2026) takes place at Dataran Lang on 30 and 31 December 2025, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The two-day event, running from 3.00 pm until midnight, will feature a vibrant lineup of stage performances, including cultural showcases and theatre presentations, specially curated for the local community and visiting tourists. The celebration will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display to welcome the arrival of the New Year 2026.

In addition to the main stage programme, visitors can look forward to a variety of side pocket events designed to engage all age groups. Among the highlights are the Netball Shoot-Out, Fresh Water Fishing, Dart Challenge, and an exciting TikTok Challenge, offering both entertainment and interactive participation throughout the event.

Continuing the festive spirit, on 1 January 2026, tourists arriving in Langkawi will receive a warm welcome at key entry points, including the Ferry Jetty, Langkawi Port, and Langkawi International Airport, marking a positive start to Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The Launching of the Calendar of Events 2026 is expected to further strengthen Langkawi’s position as a premier tourism destination, while setting the tone for a year filled with exciting events and activities across Malaysia.

Members of the public and visitors are invited to join the celebration at Dataran Lang, Langkawi, and be part of this memorable occasion as the island ushers in a new year with culture, community, and celebration.
