GELORA PUITIKA 2025: A NIGHT OF POETRY AND PERFORMANCE RETURNS TO LANGKAWI ON 25 JULY

Langkawi, 25 July 2025 – The island of Langkawi will once again come alive with the rhythms of poetry, music, and heritage as it hosts Gelora Puitika 2025 — a national literary performance showcase set to take place at Panggung Seni Kota Mahsuri on Friday, 25 July 2025.

Organised by Meja Poedjangga & Majalah WM in collaboration with Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (LADA) with supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), the event forms part of the celebrated Puitika Legenda series, which seeks to reawaken public appreciation for Malay poetry song and arts in a modern setting.

This year’s headliner is Umar Uzair, an ASEAN Young Poet 2015 known for his stirring voice and expressive performance style. His act will feature a powerful fusion of live poetry, music, and theatre, offering audiences a journey through language, rhythm, and reflection.

Also featured are prominent artists including Malaysian superstar Ziana Zain and actress Nabila Huda alongside emerging Langkawi talents. Expect dramatic recitations, musical-poetry collaborations and visual storytelling — all set against the mythical backdrop of Langkawi’s rich cultural heritage.

Admission is RM35 and seats are limited to 250 guests to preserve the event’s immersive experience.
